REFILLING THE SYSTEM

Approximately 5 liters
(1 1 Imp gal.) (1.3 U.S . gal.)
60% antifreeze
+
40% water

CAUTION: To prevent rust formation or freezing

condition, always replenish the system with
60% antifreeze and 40% water.
Pure antifreeze without water produces premature
freezing. Always use ethylene-glycol antifreeze con-
taining corrosion inhibitors specifically recommanded
for aluminum engines.
To refill cooling system:
-- Remove "drain hose" and reinstall initial one .
- Place rear of vehicle on the ground.
- Refill coolant tank slowly until coolant overfills at ther-
mostat housing .
- Rei nstall hose at thermostat housing .
- Continue to pour coolant in the tank until level rea-
ches 25 mm (
1
in ) below filler neck .
-With the coolant tank cap still removed, start engine
and let it warm to reach its normal operating tempe -
rature and thermostat open . Allow 1t to run a few
minutes mo re.
- Stop engine and check coolant level. Refill as requi-
re d then put back the cap .
