Scanner does not return to home position within 20 seconds after
scanner start.
Optics control circuit failure.
Scanner home position sensor failure.

Does the scanner return to the home position within 20 seconds after
scanning starts?

Check/repair the scanner drive mechanism.
Does CN101-B5 stay HIGH when the scanner leaves the home position?

Replace the main board.
Check the scanner home position sensor circuit. Replace the scanner home
position sensor if necessary.
