4. STRAIGHT LINES OR BANDS

Do the lines move with the image when making reduced copies?

Start a copy cycle and stop it just before the paper reaches the
fusing unit. Then, check if the unused copy has the same lines on it?

If the hot roller surface is scratched, clean, correct, or
replace any parts scratching the surface?
• Oil Blade
• Hot Roller Strippers
Note: If the hot roller strippers are badly toner stained, check
and adjust the fusing temperature. Replace the hot roller.
Check silicone oil level.
Is the drum scratched?

If you cannot solve the problem by following trouble shooting
"Uneven Density 2. Uneven density appears in bands", clean the
edge of the cleaning blade. Make sure the blade cleaner moves
smoothly, and the cleaner edge is straight.
Determine what scratched the drum and correct it (perhaps the pick-
off pawls), and replace the drum.
Refer to "Vertical White Lines 2) Straight sharp line(s)".
