Format Execution
CAUTION: The contents of the hard disk will be erased when the
FORMAT
command
is
run.
Before
running
the
test,
transfer
the contents of the hard disk on the floppy
disk. This can be done with the MS-DOS BACKUP command.
(See the MS-DOS manual for details.)
1.
Remove
the
diagnostics
disk,
and
then
insert
the
MS-DOS
system disk to the FDD.
2.
To
set
the
parti tion
of
the
hard
disk,
enter
the
FDISK
command. (See the MS-DOS manual for details.)
3.
To format the hard disk, enter the FORMAT command.
(See the
MS-DOS manual for details.)
4.
If normal operation is restored, the HDD is normal.
5.
If normal operation is not restored, go to PROCEDURE 6.
