The LAN Bridge-STP MENU allows the management of the LAN bridging state, path cost, and priority.
1 - State
The State option toggles between Enabling and Disabling of the Spanning Tree Protocol for the LAN port.
Considerations:
When the port is [enabled] the states are reported as either Listen(ing), Learn(ing), Forward(ing) or
Block(ing). If the port is disconnected, "Disabled" is shown in the Show Ports display (even if the state is
enabled).
When the port is [disabled], it does not participate in frame relay or the learning process. Also, when
[disabled] the port is not included in the STP topology calculations and will not be activated by the STP
should it be needed to take over from a failed bridge.
