Dialing Methods

Group Dial

Group Dial
Group dialing transmits a document from memory to several locations without
scanning the document for each location. There are two methods of initiating
a group dial operation. You may program a group into the phonebook. If a
group has been programmed then use the following steps to send to the group.
For more information on setting up a group see the " Setting up a Group "
section on page 95.
1
Load the documents face down in the document feeder.
2
If desired, select any special features for the operation.
3
Enter the desired group number using Speed Dial, Phonebook Dial, or
One-Touch Dial.
4
To begin dialing, press Start.
The alternate group dial method is called Ad Hoc Broadcast Send. This
method allows you to enter the phone numbers "on the fly" without entering
them into the phonebook first.
To send an Ad Hoc group broadcast:
1
Load the documents face down in the document feeder.
2
If desired, select any special features for the operation.
3
Enter the first telephone number using one of the dialing methods.
If one-touch is used to dial the first number, you must disable automatic
start by pressing Enter within 3 seconds or by selecting the Cancel Auto
Start feature. See the "Pauses and other Dial Options" section on page 57.
4
Press Enter.
5
Enter the next telephone number using one of the dialing methods.
6
Press Enter.
7
Perform steps 5 and 6 to enter each additional telephone number.
8
When all numbers have been entered, press Start.
