is worn or damaged. When this occurs, your machine will beep repeatedly and
an error message will appear on the display.
If the jammed document is skewed or crumpled inside the document feeder,
preventing the machine from moving the page automatically, follow these
instructions:
1
Grasp the control panel and pull upward until it releases. Swing the control
pad up and out of the way.
2
Pull out the jammed document.
3
Swing the control panel back down and push down gently until it clicks into
place.
Before You Resend Your Document
Check the document before you try to send it again. If your document is
extremely worn or damaged, not rectangular, or has corners missing, obtain
another copy of the original document and send that instead. If your document
appears to be in good condition, you may safely try to resend it.
Warning
Never try to send or copy documents that are wet, sticky, badly wrinkled, or
have staples or paper clips attached to them. These documents will jam and
can damage your fax machine.
Do not try to fax or copy documents on paper thicker than.15 mm or on card
stock. These documents will jam. Glossy pages may also jam.
Although the document feeder accepts documents wider than 8.5 inches (216
mm), only the middle 8.5 inches of a wide document will be copied or faxed.
Never attempt to remove a jammed document by pulling hard on the sheet.
Always open the control panel as described in the procedure above.
