Dialing Methods

Manual Dialing

If an invalid phonebook code or remote name is entered when dialing a
telephone number, the machine sounds an alarm and prompts you to validate
the number. If you cannot find the desired Speed Dial entry, print the
phonebook by pressing Menu and then pressing 14 on the numeric keypad.
See the " Programming the Fax Phonebook " section on page 89 for details on
setting up Speed Dial numbers.

Choose by Index

Choose by Index allows you to send a fax by entering a Phonebook entry
number that has been programmed with the recipient's fax machine phone
number.
1
Press Speed Dial until Choose by index displays.
2
Enter the phonebook cell (1-250) for the number you want to dial. The
leading zeros are not required.
3
Press Start.
For example, if you wish to send a fax to the fax machine programmed into
Entry #95, you simply press the Speed Dial key and enter the number 95.

Choose by Name

Choose by Name allows you to select a Phonebook Cell by entering the first
letter of the recipient's name. When you enter the first letter of the name, the
first match will be displayed. To display other cells that may also match, press
the Æ key. To backup, press the Å key.
1
Press Speed Dial until Choose by name displays.
2
Press the keypad number corresponding to the first letter of the name you
desire. Press this key repeatedly until the LCD displays the correct letter
you wish to match.
Press Å or Æ to scroll through the names that have the same first
3
character.
4
Press Start to dial the displayed number.
Manual Dialing
If you need to type numbers after the line is answered in order to send a fax,
you may want to dial the fax number manually. For example, some people
have an answering machine or voice mail system that tells you to "Press 1 to
send a fax now or wait for the tone to leave a voice message."
