Troubleshooting and Maintenance
Solving Problems with Your Machine
Clearing a Printer Paper Jam.
If your fax machine displays PAPER JAM or NO PAPER when the paper
cassette still contains paper, there may be one or more sheets of paper
jammed in the machine. To clear a paper jam, follow the instructions below.
Check your paper
If you are experiencing constant paper jams, it may be due to the type of paper
you are using. Your machine will properly feed letter size or legal-size paper
with a base weight of 13 to 28 pounds (standard photocopier paper). If you are
using a paper that is coated, extremely thin or thick, embossed, or paper with
a high linen content (such as expensive bond paper), your paper may be the
source of your problems.
For best results, select a paper that has been developed specifically for
photocopying and laser printer. Be sure to fan the paper before loading it into
the paper cassette.
To clear a printer paper jam:
1
Turn the power switch OFF.
