Boot Settings Configuration submenu

The Boot Settings Configuration submenu allows you to configure the different
options available during unit startup.
Meaning
This item allows you to skip cer tain tests while booting the unit. By selecting Enabled, you will decrease the
time required to boot the unit.
This item allows you to control the display of messages from devices in the unit during startup. Certain
devices, such as third-party boards, can have ROM messages stored in their BIOS that can be displayed
during startup.
By selecting Force BIOS, third-party ROM messages will be forced to display during the boot sequence.
By selecting Keep Current, third-party ROM messages will only be displayed if the third-party manufacturer
has set the add-on device to do so.
It is recommended that you set this item to Keep Current to reduce the time it takes to boot-up the unit. You
should only select Force BIOS for diagnostic or information purposes.
This item allows you to select the status for NumLock after bootup.
The On option causes the numeric keys on the keypad to be active. The Off option causes the cursor (arrow)
keys on the keypad to be active.
This item allows you to choose whether the BIOS will wait for user input after a POST error. Specifically, the
BIOS will wait for the F1 key to be pressed after an error during POST.
By selecting Disabled, the BIOS will not stop each time an error is detected during POST; the BIOS will
continue with POST.
By selecting Enabled, if an error is detected during POST, a message will appear and the BIOS will wait until
you press the F1 key.
This item allows you to display the message "Press Del to run Setup" on the screen during POST.
This item allows you to select whether IDE/SCSI devices can trap interrupt 19. After POST, the BIOS calls the
interrupt 19 bootstrap loader to load the operating system. The interrupt 19 bootstrap loader attempts to load
the operating system according to the boot priority list (as described in the Boot Device Priority submenu).
By selecting Disabled, no IDE/SCSI device can trap interrupt 19 and boot the unit.
By selecting Enabled, an IDE/SCSI device can trap interrupt 19 and boot the unit.
This item will not apply for the Matrox 4Sight X unit in its typical configurations (a typical Matrox 4Sight X unit
will not have an IDE/SCSI bootable device).
