Video Function Configuration sub-submenu
The Video Function Configuration sub-submenu allows you to configure display
memory settings.
❖ This sub-submenu will not appear if you set the Internal Graphics Mode Select
item to Disabled.
Meaning
This item allows you to select whether display memory is in fixed mode or dynamic video memory
technology (DVMT) mode.
By selecting Fixed mode, the amount of display memory that the display driver can access is fixed.
By selecting DVMT mode, the amount of display memory that the display driver can access will vary,
depending on the needs of the display driver. The display driver will request from the operating system (and
later return) additional memory as required.
This item allows you to select the maximum amount of display memory available, regardless of whether the
display memory is in Fixed mode or DVMT mode.

South Bridge Configuration submenu

The South Bridge Configuration submenu allows you to configure settings for
the ICH8 chip.
Meaning
This item allows you to select the number of active USB ports that are available for USB devices.
By selecting Disabled, no USB ports are available for USB devices.
By selecting 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10 USB ports, the BIOS will only be able to access the specified number of USB
devices.
Although the ICH8 chip provides 10 USB por ts, not all of these ports have a corresponding connector in the
Matrox 4Sight X unit. There are four external USB connectors on the front panel of the unit, and two USB
connectors and a 10-pin USB header inside the unit (on the motherboard).
By selecting 10 USB ports, the USB 2.0 Controller item (of the South Bridge Configuration submenu) will
be automatically set to Enabled.
This item allows you to enable or disable the USB 2.0 controller.
This item allows you to enable or disable the GigE Ethernet (GbE) controller in the south bridge ICH8 chip.
