Other considerations
The following critical points should be considered when installing full-height,
half-length PCIe boards in your Matrox 4Sight XB unit:
• You can install two full-height, half-length PCIe boards and simultaneously grab
images from video sources attached to the different boards. However, the number
of video sources from which you can simultaneously grab images is determined
by the available bandwidth of the PCIe bus. The PCIe bus has a maximum data
width of four lanes (x4). If there is not enough bandwidth, the boards will drop
frames.
• Note that if you install two boards and both boards send data to the Host, each
operating at x4 PCIe and fully utilizing their connection, you will experience data
over-runs.
• You cannot connect PCI-104 or PCI/104-Express boards to the
Matrox 4Sight XB motherboard)
