Optional boards
You can purchase additional Matrox boards for Matrox 4Sight X, which if
purchased with the unit will arrive factory installed in the unit. A description of
each board is outlined below. For more information on each board, please refer to
their associated documentation.
Boards for the Matrox 4Sight XB unit
The Matrox 4Sight XB unit is equipped with a riser board (attached to the PCIe
connector on the motherboard) that allows you to connect Matrox or third-party
full-height, half-length x1, x4, or x8
representative for the list of available boards.
Boards for the PCI/104-Express Matrox 4Sight X unit
The PCI/104-Express Matrox 4Sight X unit supports Matrox or third-party

or PCI/104-Express boards (note that these boards will not fit in the
Matrox 4Sight XB unit). The Matrox boards are described below.
Matrox Solios eM-CL
Matrox Solios eM-CL is a frame grabber that captures area or line scan
monochrome/RGB video from digital video sources compliant with the Camera
Link specification. The board transmits video data on the PCIe bus of
Matrox 4Sight X.
Two different versions of the board are available:
• Matrox Solios eM-CLB, which supports two independent cameras in Base
configuration.
• Matrox Solios eM-CLF, which supports one camera in either Medium or Full
configuration.
1. The connectors on the riser board are x8 PCIe connectors supporting x1 or x4 electri-
cal connections. If you install an x8 PCIe board in one of the slots, the x8 PCIe board
will operate at a maximum of x4 PCIe or x1 PCIe, depending on the next lowest com-
mon configuration supported by the PCIe board and the riser board (x4 PCIe or
x1 PCIe).
2. The PCI/104-Express Matrox 4Sight X unit does not support all PCI-104 boards.
Use only PCI-104 boards with 3.3 V signalling.
