CPU Configuration submenu

The CPU Configuration submenu allows you to configure different settings of
your CPU.
Setting the wrong values in the items below might cause the unit to malfunction.
Meaning
This item repor ts the CPU manufacturer.
This item repor ts the CPU name.
This item repor ts the speed at which the CPU executes instructions.
This item repor ts the front-side bus speed.
This item repor ts the level 1 (L1) memory cache size.
This item repor ts the level 2 (L2) memory cache size.
This item repor ts the (front-side bus speed) / (operating core speed of CPU).
This item allows you to enable or disable the hardware prefetcher option of the processor. Prefetching allows
the processor to fetch instructions and/or data from memory into the cache well before the processor needs
it, therefore improving the load-to-use latency and increasing processor performance. The hardware
prefetcher operates transparently, without programmer intervention, to fetch streams of data and instruction
from memory into the second-level (L2) cache.
This item allows you to enable or disable the adjacent cache line prefetch option of the processor. The
Adjacent Cache Line Prefetch item, when enabled, will cause the CPU to fetch two adjacent cache lines
(each cache line is 64 bytes) when updating the cache, rather than fetching a single cache line. Like the
Hardware Prefetcher item above, the adjacent cache line prefetch works transparently, without programmer
intervention. Disabling this feature can reduce, and therefore improve, bus traffic.
This item allows you to enable or disable the maximum CPUID value limit.
Older operating systems do not support the values returned by CPUID instructions of newer processors.
This item can be used to limit the value returned by the CPUID instruction to 03h, so that older operating
systems work with newer CPUs. This option can be set to Disabled for more recent operating systems, such
as Microsoft Windows.
This item allows you to enable or disable Intel Virtualization Technology. This technology allows a computer
to run multiple operating systems and applications as independent virtual machines. This allows one
computer to function with multiple "virtual" operating systems, and isolate different computing activities into
separate partitions.
You will need to reboot your Matrox 4Sight X unit for the changes to this item to take effect.
