ACPI Configuration submenu

The ACPI Configuration submenu allows you to access the General, Advanced,
and Chipset ACPI Configuration sub-submenus. These sub-submenus allow you
to control suspend mode, set advanced options of the advanced configuration and
power interface (ACPI) state, and set the north bridge and south bridge chipset
options.
General ACPI Configuration sub-submenu
The General ACPI Configuration sub-submenu allows you to select the ACPI
state that is used when the unit enters suspend mode, and whether to repost video
to the display device when resuming from the S3 (STR) state.
Meaning
This item allows you to select the ACPI state that is used for suspend mode.
By selecting S1 (POS), you are selecting the S1 Power On Standby state for suspend mode. In this state, all
processor caches are flushed, and the CPU stops executing instructions. Power to the CPU and RAM is
maintained; some devices are powered down.
By selecting S3 (STR), you are selecting the S3 Suspend to RAM (also known as Sleep) state for suspend
mode. In this state, power to RAM is maintained; the CPU and most other devices are powered down. It takes
more time to return from the S3 state than the S1 state.
By selecting Auto, the operating system will choose which state it uses.
This item allows you to repost video to the display device when resuming from the S3 (STR) state.
By selecting No, the BIOS of the graphics controller will not be initialized when resuming from the S3 (STR)
state. By selecting Yes, the BIOS of the graphics controller will be initialized when resuming from the
S3 (STR) state.
Note that, with the supported operating systems for Matrox 4Sight X (these operating systems are listed in
the Operating system section, in Chapter 1: Before you begin), this item is not supported. In this case, set
the option to No (default).
