J1513/J1514: Conveying sensor stay jam
The conveying sensor does not turn off after PF conveying sensor 1 turns on or off during paper feed from the
large capacity feeder (cassette 3, 4).

Assumed cause
The paper is caught with a
piece of paper, etc.
Setting position of the
paper size guides does not
match the paper size.
The paper is caught with
the conveying guide.
The paper fanning is not
enough.
The paper conveying force
of the conveying rollers is
insufficient.
The cut-end of the paper is
crushed.
The paper leading edge is
bent.
Paper gets curled down-
ward or waving.
Unspecified papers are
used.

Measures
A piece of paper or the for-
eign objects are adhered on
the conveying path, or if the
parts such as the guide or
the actuator has burrs,
remove them.
Reset the paper size guides
matching the paper size.
Reinstall the conveying
guide. If there are burrs on
the conveying surface of the
conveying guide, remove
them. If not repaired, replace
it.
Clean or replace the feed pul-
ley and the retard pulley.
Clean or replace the paper
conveying rollers.
Fan the paper well and load it
by reversing the paper direc-
tion
Remove the bent paper.
Fix or replace paper. If it is
difficult to replace, relocate
the leading edge with the
trailing edge of the paper to
feed or turn over the paper,
and reinstall it.
Explain to the user to use the
paper within the specifica-
tions.
Remove the paper with for-
eign objects.
