Assumed cause
The toner sensor is faulty.
The developer unit is not
properly installed.
The connector is not prop-
erly connected. Or, the
wire is faulty.
The drive gears for the
developer unit are dam-
aged. (The spiral cannot
rotate.)
The developer unit (Toner
sensor ) is faulty.
The firmware is not the lat-
est version.
The front PWB is faulty.
Assumed cause
The PD PWB is faulty.

Measures
Check the output value of the
toner sensor at U155.
Reinstall the developer unit
so that the connector is firmly
connected.
Clean the terminal of the fol-
lowing wire connectors and
reconnect the connectors. If
there is no continuity, replace
the wire. • Front PWB -
Engine PWB
Replace the drive gears for
the developer unit.
Replace the developer unit.
Upgrade the engine firmware
to the latest version
Replace the front PWB.
Replace the engine PWB.
Measures
Execute U139 [LSU] to check
the in-machine temperature
around the LSU. (Go to the
next step.)
