J0536/J0537: Multi-feeding from the large capacity feeder
Object: Large capacity feeder
The PF feed sensor does not turn off when passing the certain time after the PF feed clutch turns on during
paper feed from the large capacity feeder (cassette 6, 7).

Assumed cause
The cut-end of the paper is
crushed.
The paper leading edge is
bent.
foreign objects are on the
paper.
The paper is damp.
The paper separation force
of the retard pulley is not
enough.
The PF retard spring
comes off.
No grounding between the
main unit and the side
multi feeder.
It is not properly connected
to the main unit.
The PF conveying clutch
always turns on.

Measures
Fan the paper well and load it
by reversing the paper direc-
tion
Remove the bent paper.
Remove the paper with for-
eign objects.
Replace the paper. Install the
PF cassette heater and set it
at U327 if necessary. And
please instruct user to store
the paper that has less mois-
ture. Store the dry paper in
the plastic bag and seal it to
prevent moisture.
Clean the retard pulley sur-
face. If it is worn down,
replace it.
Reattach the PF retard
spring.
Attach the rails of the side
multi feeder to the main unit.
Reconnect the cable of the
side multi feeder to the main
unit.
Execute U247 [Side LCF] >
[Clutch] > [V Feed Clutch] or
[H Feed1 Clutch]. If PF con-
veying clutch 1or 2 does not
properly operate, reattach it
and reinsert the connector. If
not repaired, replace the
clutch.
