Troubleshooting

Read this section if trouble occurs with the machine. Contact your local technical representative if the follow-
ing steps do not solve the problem.

Cannot transmit faxes

Things to check
Is your transmission pro-
cedure correct?
Is the destination fax
number correct?
Is there something
wrong with the remote
machine?
Are the documents load-
ed with the edges of the
paper all lined up?
Do the loaded docu-
ments include pages
smaller than the mini-
mum width (4.7")?
Is the fax number cor-
rect?
Is the other party's line
busy?
Is the document loaded
correctly?
Is the memory full?
Have you checked the
network environment?
Is "BW MF25-1 Fax" in-
stalled?
Is "BW MF25-1 Fax" se-
lected as the printer?
Is the port setting of "BW
MF25-1 Fax" incorrect?
Troubleshooting
Countermeasure
Check the procedure and try again.
For details, see page 4-3.
If you are using an address book destination,
make sure the number is registered correctly by
printing out the list. For details, see page 8-8.
Ask the other party to prepare the machine for
reception. (Power, paper, etc.)
Reload the documents.
These pages should be loaded on the document
glass and kept separate from the other pages.
Dial the correct fax number.
Wait until the line is available and try again.
Load the document correctly.
Check the memory.
For details, see chapter 5 in the Administrator's
Guide.
Install "BW MF25-1 Fax". For details, see chap-
ter 2 in the Printer Guide.
Select "BW MF25-1 Fax" as the printer in the
print menu of the application.
Check that the port is correct.
