Check and Clean theTransmission
Cooler
1. Open the transmission cooler box lid
2. Check the cooler (1), if it is dusty or mud-
packed, clean with a soap and water solution.
3. Check hoses and fasteners for security and
leaks, and ensure that the mounting bolts are
secure to prevent vibration.
Note: If there has been a failure in the transmission
cooling system, the cooler must be removed and
tested. Contact BELL EQUIPMENT Product Sup-
port.

Axles, Chassis and Driveshafts

1. Inspect all pipes, hoses, clamps and connec-
tions on the axles and differentials for security.
2. Ensure that the hoses cannot chafe against
moving parts.
3. Check all the axles for damage and security.
4. Check all the differentials for signs of leaks,
damage and security.
5. Check all the driveshafts for damage and secu-
rity.
6. Check that the sandwich blocks are not dam-
aged and that the securing bolts are secure.
7. Ensure that the walking beam and joints are not
damaged and that the securing bolts are secure.
8. Ensure that the suspension air bags, shock ab-
sorbers and the restraint cable are secure and
undamaged.
9. Torque all wheel nuts to 650 N⋅m (ft lb) after the
first 5 hours of operation and again after 50
hours of operation. repeat the procedure if the
wheels are changed.

Brakes

Check the Service Brake Pads
The service brake pads must be changed when the
pad has reached its minimum limit (2 mm).

1. Check the service brake pad wear indicator.
• When the ends of the sliding blocks (1 and 2) are
flush with the edges (3 and 4) of the cover (5) the
service brake pads are 2 mm and must be re-
placed.
Check the Park/Emergency Brake Pads
1. Raise the bin and install the bin prop.
2. Measure the thickness of the brake pads.
The park brake pads must be changed when the
pads reach a minimum wear limit of 3 mm.
Check the Tyres
Check the tyres daily for wear and large cuts, as well
as tyre pressures.
Improperly inflated tyres can cause excessive
heat build up, excessive or uneven tyre wear or
rim damage resulting in blowouts.
1. Ensure that the valve caps are fitted.
2. Check for wear and cuts to the tyres. Consult
your tyre dealer if in doubt about the serviceabil-
ity of a damaged tyre.
3. Check the tyre pressure.
