Push Button Shift Selector and Range
Hold Switch
The machine is equipped with an automatic gearbox
with the push button selector located to the left of the
operator's seat .

The gear shift control (1) is located on the left side of
the cab.
The gear shift control comprises of a digital display
screen (2) and the selector buttons marked as fol-
lows:
• D (Drive), is used to select a forward gear range.
• N (Neutral), is used to select neutral gear.
• R (Reverse), is used to select reverse gear.
• MODE, is used to select between Performance
and Economy program modes.
Note: The Performance mode is the typical mode for
normal operating and the Economy mode would be
selected for on-road driving.
In the Economy mode, shifts occur at lower engine
speeds (rev/min) thus saving fuel on long flat hauls.
• The UP and DOWN arrows, are used to select a
specific range of gears in Drive.

The range hold switch (3) is located next to the gear
shift control.
The range hold switch has two positions:
• OFF; switch in the normal position.
• ON; switch in the down position.

When the switch is OFF the transmission is in the
normal automatic operating mode.
Note: Shift cycling or "gear hunting" on certain uphill
applications can be eliminated by correct use of the
range hold switch.
When the switch is ON the transmission will hold the
gear that it is in at the time of the switch being acti-
vated. Normal downshifting will occur, but the
transmission will not upshift to a higher gear until the
switch is switched OFF (except in overspeed condi-
tions).
When the switch is actuated, the gear shift display
(2), will indicate the gear number that the transmis-
sion will be 'held' in.
When the range hold switch is switched OFF, normal
gear selection will continue and the display will show
the original value.
Tip Control Lever
The tip control lever is located to the right of the op-
erator's seat.
To operate the tip control lever the following must be
done:-
To raise the bin pull the tip control lever UP.
To lower the bin push the tip control lever DOWN.
Note: The tip control lever is spring loaded to the
central (holding) position.
‹ CAUTION
Do not hold the tip control lever in the raised or
lowered position once the bin has fully raised or
lowered.
