To release the park brake, pull the lever up and
move it forward to the RELEASE position.
‹ CAUTION
When releasing the park brake, wait for the sys-
tem to reach normal operating pressure before
driving off. Low air pressure will prevent the park
brake from releasing.
To apply the park brake move the lever backwards to
the APPLY position.
To test the park brake move the lever backwards to
the TEST position.
Note: The test position is used to operate the drive-
line disc brake independently of the rear brakes for
maintenance and the park brake hold test.
Note: The park brake can also be used as an emer-
gency brake when the service brakes fail.
Accelerator and Brake Pedals
The accelerator pedal (1) and brake pedal (2) are lo-
cated on the cab floor .
The accelerator and brake pedals are treadle type
that are spring loaded to the up position.
The accelerator pedal is connected to the engine
fuel injector pump by a pneumatic linkage.

Note: The engine speed cannot be increased until
the air pressure has reached normal operating pres-
sure.
Note: When the accelerator is released the engine
retarder function will be activated automatically.
Engine Stop Control
The engine stop control is a T shaped lever located
just below the right instrument panel.
Do not stop the engine from high idle. Let the en-
gine run at low idle for two minutes before
stopping. This allows the turbochargers to slow
and temperatures to stabilise.
The lever is pulled to shutdown the engine.
Note: Ensure the control is pushed in fully once the
engine is shutdown completely.
