Change the Service Brake Pads
The service brake pads should be changed if there is
2 mm of pad left.
1. Remove the wheel from the axle.

2. Remove the bolts (5) and washers from the
cover (1).
3. Remove the cover (1) from the brake caliper (4).
4. Remove the brake pads (3).
5. Lever the pistons back to the full release posi-
tion.
6. Install the new brake pads into the caliper.

7. Install the cover, onto the brake caliper. Ensure
the brake pad backing plates (1) are correctly
positioned between the alignment pins (1 and 2)
on the sliding blocks.
Note: Do not tighten the bolts (5) fully.
8. Move the brake pads against the brake disc.
9. Move the cover until the edges are aligned with
the notches on the sliding blocks.
10. Tighten the bolts.

Adjusting the Park Brake Caliper
The park brake calipers are self adjusting and do not
require any special adjustment procedures.
Park Brake Holding Test
The park brake hold test must be carried out every

250 hours. The following procedure describes how

the brake hold test is done.
1. Park the machine in an open area on firm level
2. Apply the park brake.
3. Apply the inter axle differential locks to prevent

5. Select drive (D) on the gear selector.

6. Release the service brake.

1. Never maintain the stall condition for more
than 30 seconds at any one time because of the
rapid rise in fluid temperature. Do not allow the
converter-out fluid temperature (transmission
fluid temperature as displayed on the driver's in-
strument panel) to exceed 120°C (248°F)
2. Never permit a stall condition to arise if the
converter-out fluid temperature (as displayed on
the driver's instrument panel) is below 45°C
(113°F) or if the sump fluid temperature (as dis-
played on the Pro-Link® 9000 diagnostic tool) is
below 30°C (86°F).
3. Serious transmission damage will be caused if
the cautions above are ignored.
