The switch is used to operate the beacon on the roof
of the cab.
Note: The switch has two positions:-
The first position (normal) is rotating beacon OFF.
The second position (switch in the down position) is
rotating beacon ON.
Ignition Switch and Start Button

The ignition switch (2) and start button (1) are lo-
cated on the right instrument panel .
Note: The ignition switch is a key operated and is a
two position rotary switch:-
The first position is O (OFF).
The second position (switch turned clockwise) is I
(ON).
Note: When the ignition switch is turned to the I (ON)
position the following indicators will either flash or re-
main illuminated until the engine has been started:-
• Engine oil pressure indicator (flash).
• Park brake indicator (flash).
• Transmission oil pressure indicator (flash).
• Low water level.
• Battery charge indicator (remain on).
Note: The start button is spring loaded to the out po-
sition.
Press the button to start the engine.
‹ CAUTION
Do not press and hold the start button (operating
the starter) for more than 10 seconds. If the en-
gine does not start, wait one minute before
attempting to re-start the engine. If the engine
does not start after two attempts, investigate the
cause.
‹ CAUTION
Do not press and hold the start button when the
battery is flat. This will damage the starter motor.

Air Conditioner

The air conditioner fitted to the machine has a sepa-
rate control panel on the right side of the cab .
The controls are as follows:-
Switch 1 controls the air conditioner fan speed. This
has four positions:-
• OFF
• LOW
• MED.
• HIGH
Switch 2 is to change from air conditioner function to
the heater function. The switch has two positions:-
• HEAT (heater)
• A/C (air conditioner)
Switch 4 is used to control the air flow in the cab. The
switch has two positions:-
• REC. (re-circulate)
• FRESH (fresh air)
Switch 3 is used to control the temperature inside the
cab.
The temperature is increased when the lever is
moved to the HOT position.
The temperature is decreased when the lever is
moved to the COOL position.
