CHAPTER 14. 2 000 HOURS SERVICE
Introduction
The 2 000 hours service must be performed when
the machine has operated for 2 000 hours and the
service must be repeated every 2 000 hours thereaf-
ter.
Every 2 000 hours service must be performed by
qualified service personnel.
Service Instructions
Ensure that the machine is in the service position.
Refer to
Pre-service Instructions, Chapter 7.
Perform all the Daily or 10 Hourly Service Checks.
Perform the following additional tasks:
Engine
Flush the Coolant
1. Open the belly plate
2. Place a 75 litre (19.8 USGAL) container under
the drain plug at the bottom, right of the radiator.
3. Unscrew and remove the drain plug.
4. Allow the coolant to drain into the container.

5. Remove the filler cap (1) on the radiator expan-
sion tank.
6. Fill the radiator expansion tank to the top with
clean water.
7. Unscrew and remove the drain plug and allow
the water to drain.
8. Flush the cooling system by repeating the pro-
cedure until clean water runs from the radiator.
9. Replace the drain plug.
10. Add the correct ratio of water to coolant (50%
water/50%coolant) into the radiator expansion
tank until the level is at the top.
11. Leave the filler cap off the expansion tank and
start the engine.
12. Purge all the air out of the tank by keeping the
tank full to the top. The level will eventually stabi-
lise at the top of the tank.
13. Replace the filler cap.
