1. Ensure that the transfer case breather (1) is se-
cure and clean.
2. If the breather is encased in mud or dirt it must
be scraped clean or removed and cleaned in
water.
Axles, Chassis and Driveshafts
Check the Differentials Oil Level
Procedure described in
Hours Service.
After the machine has been in service for over 500
hours, an oil sample should be analysed every 250
hours. Refer to BELL EQUIPMENT Product Sup-
port.
Check and Clean the Axle Breather
The procedure is detailed in
Hours
Service..
Check the Final Drives Oil Level
Note: The procedure is the same for all the final
drives.

1. Rotate the wheels so that the level/filler plug (1)
is in a horizontal position.
2. Remove the level plug (1) from the level/filler
hole and check the oil level in each of the final
drives.

3. The oil level must be at the bottom of the
level/filler hole.
4. If necessary top up the oil until the oil flows from
the level/filler hole. Refer to
Chapter 1 -
Recommended Fuels, Lubri-
cants and Coolant Additives.
5. Re-install the level plug securely.

Clean and Change the Air Condioner
External Filter
Notes: The air conditioner internal filter should be
cleaned every 50 hours (or as required, depending
upon conditions)) and replaced if damaged.
The air conditioner external filter should be cleaned
every 250 hours (or as required, depending upon
conditions)) and replaced if damaged.
1. Remove the end cover from the external filter on
the side of the cab.
2. Remove the filter element and clean it using
compressed air blown from the outside of the fil-
ter.
Note: If there is any damage, then the filter element
must be changed.
3. Install the clean filter element with the arrows
pointing in the direction of air flow into the cab.
4. Install the cover.
