These commands let you configure and display Parallel Port parameters.

Appendix A — Console Commands
Description
Enables or disables Compatibility mode (ACKH,
1284 compatible) on the parallel port for older
printers. To use Compatibility mode, you must
disable ECP mode and Fast Strobe mode.

Enables or disables Bi-directional mode on the
parallel port. Where status is
for disabled. The default is enabled.
Enables or disables 1284 ECP mode on the parallel
port. If enabled, this mode takes priority over
Compatibility mode (ACKH) and Fast Strobe mode
(FSTB).

The default is enabled.
Enables or disables Fast Strobe mode on the parallel
port. This mode handshake only with the busy line
from the printer. If enabled, this mode takes priority
over Compatibility mode (ACKH).

Enables or disabled the Input Wait mode. If
enabled, this mode delays polling for input from the
printer at the end of a print job for one poll period.

Enables or disables no buffering on parallel port. If
this mode is enabled, data passes directly from the
network to the printer without buffering.
Depending on the network setup and application,
buffering may improve or reduce performance.

Enables or disables the No Input While Busy mode.
If this mode is enabled, the printer is not polled for
data to send back to the host while reporting a busy
status on the interface.

parallel port. This value has an affect only when Bi-
directional mode is enabled. The default is 50 ms.
