Printing Through FTP

6 Click Print Test Page. The message, "Test Page queued to all active
ports," appears, and the printer prints the test label.
Note: If you cannot print a test label, see Chapter 4, "Troubleshooting
EasyLAN Wireless."
Your printer is now ready to communicate using EasyLAN Wireless.
7 Disconnect the serial cable connecting EasyLAN Wireless to your PC
and communicate with your printer using a PC with an 802.11b radio
or through an access point.
This section explains:
• how to print through FTP. For help, see the next section, "Printing
Through FTP."
• how to set up printing on a Windows NT4/2000/XP or Windows
Server 2003 PC. For help, see "Printing from a Windows 2000/XP,
Windows Server 2003, or Windows NT4 PC" on page 17.
• how to set up the printer to act like a parallel port on a Windows 95/98
PC. For help, see "Printing From a Windows 95/98 PC" on page 19.
To set up your printer to print from a UNIX system, see "Configuring for
UNIX" on page 60.
After you install EasyLAN Wireless in your network, you are ready to print
through it. This section explains how to use FTP to print to your printer.
To print using an FTP session
1 From a DOS prompt, log in to EasyLAN Wireless by typing:
ftp ipaddress
where ipaddress is the IP address or name assigned to your EasyLAN
Wireless. The default name is
last six digits of the MAC address.
2 Press Enter. You do not need to enter a specific user ID and password.
3 Print the label, by typing:
put c:\path\file_name p1
where:
c:
is the drive where the label you want to print is.
path
is the directory that contains the label you want to print.
file_name is the name of the label you want to print.
