Set gear shift switch (8) to the desired position.
(a) 1st position
(b) 2nd position
(c) 3rd position
(d) 4th position

Set the directional lever (10) to FORWARD position (F) or
REVERSE position (R).
(F) FORWARD position
It is used to drive the machine forward.
(N) NEUTRAL position
The machine does not move.
(R) REVERSE position
It is used to drive the machine in reverse.
Place directional lever (10) in REVERSE position (R), and
check that the backup alarm sounds.
If the backup alarm does not sound, ask your Komatsu distributor for repairs.
10. Release R.H. brake pedal (5), then depress accelerator
pedal (11).
To move off the machine at an uphill, depress accelerator
pedal (11) while gradually releasing L.H. brake pedal (6).
This prevents the machine from rolling back.
METHOD FOR STOPPING MACHINE

• Avoid a sudden stop. Stop the machine gradually.
• Keep depressing the brake pedal until the parking
brake pilot lamp lights up on the machine monitor
even when the parking brake switch has been turned
to ON position (activated).
NOTICE
Never use the parking brake switch to brake the machine
when the machine is traveling except in an emergency.
Stop the machine, and then apply the parking brake.
