OPERATION
Problem
Engine coolant temperature caution
lamp lights up.
Indicator of engine coolant tempera-
ture gauge does not rise up to the
green range
Starting motor operates but engine
does not start.
Exhaust gas color is white or bluish.
Main causes
Clogged radiator fins or damaged fin
Defective thermostat
Defective sealing of thermostat
Loose radiator filler cap
(In high altitude operation)
Defective coolant temperature gauge
Defective coolant level sensor
Defective monitor
Defective thermostat
Defective coolant temperature gauge
Defective monitor
Lack of fuel
Air in fuel system
Fuel filter is not filled with fuel.
Defective fuel injection pump or injec-
tor
Starting motor turns engine sluggish-
ly.
Starting motor does not turn.
Preheating pilot lamp does not light
up.
Incorrect valve clearance
(Defective compression)
Water entry in the aftertreatment de-
vices
Breakage of the aftertreatment devi-
ces
Excessive oil in oil pan
Improper fuel

Remedy
