The diagram above is based on the expanded capability Trigger
Model with subservient sequences.
SEQUENCE2 above is subservient to SEQUENCE1. The series
of action are:
The Trigger model Start sequence moves into the initiate state
on the command INIT:IMM or INIT:CONT ON. SEQUENCE1 or
the START sequence will then move through the Initiated state
and either proceed straight to the trigger layer, if the command
ARM:START:SOUR IMM (default) has been set or wait for the
arm event, set by ARM:START:SOURCE CTR_EXTARM |
TTLTRG<n>. Once this event has occurred then SEQUENCE1
proceeds to the Trigger state.
Once in the Trigger state, SEQUENCE1 will now wait for the
trigger conditions to be satisfied, set by
INPUT[1|2]:COMP:LEVEL and INPUT[1|2]:COMP:SLOPE
commands, and then the device action 'Begin Measurement'
happens. SEQUENCE1 then moves back up through the
Trigger layer to the Arm layer but is prevented from going
further by the need of an event, the device action 'End
Measurement'.
The device action 'Begin Measurement' now moves the
SEQUENCE2, or STOP sequence, through the initiated state
and straight to the arm state, and either proceed straight to the
trigger layer, if the command ARM:STOP:SOUR IMM(default)
has been set or wait for the arm event, set by
ARM:STOP:SOURce CTR_EXTARM | TTLTrg<n>. Once this
event has occurred then Sequence2 proceeds to the Trigger
state.
Once in the Trigger state, Sequence2 will now wait for the
trigger conditions to be satisfied, set by
INPut[1|2]:COMP:LEVEL and INPut[1|2]:COMP:SLOPe
commands, and then the device action 'End Measurement'
happens. Sequence1 then moves back up through the Trigger
layer all the way to the Idle layer. The device action, 'End
Measurement' causes an event occurrence which allows
SEQUENCE1 to proceed to check the measurement count.
SEQUENCE1 now will either move to the down path at the start
of the Arm layer(measurement count not yet complete) or move
up to the Initiate layer(Measurement count complete). In the
Initiated layer, the command INIT:CONT ON is checked and, if
received, moves to the down path and encounters the Arm layer
once again. If INIT:CONT ON is not received then SEQUENCE1
moves up to the IDLE layer and waits for the next command.
