2.2 Several operator panel fronts and NCUs with control unit management option
Properties
The M:N system features control units with the following properties:
Server
Maintains a constant 1:N connection
Alarm server
(HMI Advanced)
Receives the alarms from
all NCUs in an M:N
system. From its side, a
constant 1:N connection is
maintained. The process
"Receive alarms" is
always active and runs in
the background.
Cannot be suppressed
(see Section
"Suppression")
Distribution of properties among the HMI types:

HMI is both server and main control panel at the same time
As a server, the HMI maintains constant 1:N connections; as a main control panel it has a
switchable 1:1 connection.
If the HMI is switched over to another NCU as a control panel, it occupies the same
connection which it already has as a server. A new connection is not set up.
