Connection to SINUMERIK 840D sl
The probe is connected to the SINUMERIK 840D sl system via the peripheral device
interface X121 located on the upper front plate of the NCU module.
Various factory-specific message frame types are programmable for the digital
inputs/outputs of this interface.
SINUMERIK 840D sl uses the following preferred message frame types:
● Without probe
● Up to two probes
● Up to six probes
There are two variations of the terminal assignment X122. Each variation is pre-assigned for
two probes and both have identical pin assignments. A configuration macro is connected on
the line side for both configurable axis probe signals. As a result, the user does not have to
carry out any additional probe signal configuration.
