Backgauge Angle Adjustment

If the lengths of the top and bottom sheets
are different, the backgauge may not be
perpendicular to the table.
Check
Check whether the backgauge is perpendicular
to the table.
1. Set the backgauge position to 500 mm (20").
2. Turn OFF the power switch.
3. Remove the backgauge cover. (There are four
mounting screws.)
4. Place a right-angle gauge on the table and
check for any space between the gauge and the
backgauge.
If there is any space, and the backgauge is not
perpendicular, adjust the backgauge using the
procedure below.
Adjusting Procedure
Check that the power switch is
turned OFF.
Remove the backgauge cover.
Loosen the backgauge locking lever.
Turn the lever counterclockwise.
Use a 19 mm wrench (accessory)
to loosen the locking nut on the
angle adjusting screw.
Adjust the backgauge angle.
- Use the 6 mm Allen wrench (accessory).
- To tilt the backgauge in the A direction (shown
to the right), tighten the angle adjusting screw.
- To tilt the backgauge in the B direction, loosen
the angle adjusting screw.
After adjusting the angle, tighten
the locking nut.
Tighten the backgauge loking
lever.
Install the backgauge cover.
Cut some sheets. If the lengths of
the top and bottom sheets are
still different, repeat steps
through
backgauge.
