Backgauge Parallel Adjustment

If the sheets are not cut parallel, even
though they are pushed up against the
backgauge, the backgauge may not be
parallel to the knife.
Check
Check whether the backgauge is parallel to the
knife.
1. Fold a cut sheet as shown to the right. Line up
one edge as shown, and check the other edge.
If the edges of the sheet do not align and the
backgauge is not parallel, adjust the backgauge
following the procedure below.
Adjustment Procedure
Turn OFF the power switch.
Remove the backgauge cover.
(There are four mounting screws.)
Loosen the backgauge locking lever.
Use a 13 mm wrench (accessory)
to loosen the lock nuts on parallel
adjusting screws 1 and 2.
Adjust the backgauge so that it is
parallel.
- Use the 13 mm wrench (accessory).
- To turn the backgauge in the A direction, loosen
parallel adjusting screw 2 and tighten parallel
adjusting screw 1 by the same amount.
- To turn the backgauge in the B direction, loosen
parallel adjusting screw 1 and tighten parallel
adjusting screw 2 by the same amount.
After adjusting the backgauge,
tighten both lock nuts.
Tighten the backgauge locking
lever.
Install the backgauge cover.
(There are four mounting screws.)
Cut some sheets. If they are still
not cut parallel, repeat steps
through
to re-adjust the
backgauge.
