Compression Operation

Using the pressure of the clamp, saddle-
stitched or folded booklets can be com-
pressed to reduce their bulk.
Press the
The compression procedure is shown on the
display.
Move the backgauge to the front.
Move the backgauge forward so the spine of
the booklet sits under the clamp.
Place the booklet.
Place the booklet so that the spine touches the
backgauge.
Press both cutting buttons at
once.
CAUTION
Do not leave the machine with
the cutting buttons pressed
(pressure on) for a long time.
This will cause the hydraulic
oil to heat up, and may reduce
the lift of the hydraulic unit.
The clamp will lower and compress the
booklet.
If the cutting buttons are released, the clamp
will remain lowered.
To release the compression,
press both cutting buttons again.
The clamp will lift.
