6-2-2 Outline and Notes on Knife Replacement

1. Knife mounting screws
- There are eight mounting screws for the knife.
- There are grooves on the knife holder for screw 3
and 6. These allow the knife to slide down.
2. The far left screw on the knife
(screw 8)
The screw on the far left on the knife (screw 8 shown
to the right) is hidden when the knife is at the upper
limit (the highest position), and it can not be
removed. Therefore, to remove screw 8, move the
knife to the lower limit (the lowest position) and
remove screw 8 first.
3. The far right screw on the knife
(screw 1)
The screw on the far right of the knife is hidden
when the knife is at the lower limit (the lowest
position.) Tighten this screw last when installing the
knife.
4. Knife replacement mode
- In a normal cutting operation, each time both cutting
buttons are pressed, the knife and clamp move down
then up. When the Knife Replacement Screen is
shown on the control panel, the knife performs only
one motion at a time. When the cutting buttons are
pressed, the knife lowers and stops. When it is
pressed again, the knife lifts.
- In the Knife Replacement Mode operation, the lower
limit of the knife is detected using the knife holder,
not using the knife edge.
5. Knife cutting depth
- The height of the knife becomes smaller each time it
is re-sharpened.
- The knife should be attached in position so the knife
edge just touches the cutting stick when the knife is
at the lower limit.
- You can adjust the cutting depth by turning the
cutting depth adjusting dial.
