5A. Points to Remember
Drum Charge
1. The charge corona wire should be cleaned at
every service call by sliding the corona unit.
2. If the corona wire cannot be cleaned using
only the wire cleaner, use alcohol. Wipe the
corona wire several times in the same direc-
tion to remove all toner stains.

3. Do not use emery paper for wire cleaning,
because the corona wire is carbon coated.
4. Do not touch the corona wire with oily hands.
5. Make sure that the corona wire is correctly
positioned between the cleaner pads.
6. After cleaning the charge corona unit, make
sure that there are no threads on the casing to
avoid white lines on the copy.
