Fusing jam

1. Check the oil bottle and oil pump operation. Make sure the pump works pro-
perly and that the oil tube extends to the bottom of the bottle.
2. Open the exit assembly and turn the fusing knob. Check whether oil is applied
evenly to the hot roller.
3. If oil is not applied to the hot roller, check whether the oil supply pad and felt
wick are wet with oil.
4. If they are not wet, make sure that:
(1) The machine is level.
(2) The wick touches the bottom of the sump.
(3) Nothing is blocking oil flow in the sump.
(4) The transport roller drive gear and idle gear A are correctly engaged. (See
figure.)
