3.3.7 Setting the pressure regulating valves

The pressure regulator plates can be set using the following
operator control elements:
For widths 18 mm, 26 mm, 42 mm and 52 mm with the aid
of the adjusting knob
Alternatively with widths 18 mm and 26 mm with the ad
justing screw in the adjusting knob.
Note
For the A, B and AB pressure regulating valves of type
VABF−S4... and VABF−S2... (identifier in the type code: R2,
R3, R4), the control pressure should not be under 2 bars.
For control pressures under 2 bars, use the reversible A, B,
or AB pressure regulating valves (identifer in the type
code: R6, R7, R5). See Tab. 1/11.
Setting the pressure regulating valve with the
adjusting knob
Proceed as follows:
1. Pull the adjusting knob 2 as far as possible out of the
locking level 1 into the setting level 3 (see Fig. 3/4).
2. Set the desired controlled variable at this level by turning
the adjusting knob (see Flow diagrams of the pressure
regulator plates" in Appendix A).
3. Only for pressure regulating valves of widths 18 mm and
26 mm:
Press the adjusting knob into the free−wheeling level 4.
In this position you can turn the setting wheel without
modifying the controlled variable.
4. Only for pressure regulating valves of widths 18 mm and
26 mm:
Turn the adjusting knob longitudinally toward the pres
sure regulator plate.
5. Press the adjusting knob in this position into the snap−in
locking of the locking level 1.
