The table below shows the effects of gradual start−up pres
surisation when there are electric signals:

You should use the manual override especially when commis
sioning the pneumatic system, in order to check the function
and operation of the valve or the valve/actuator combination.
By actuating the manual override, you can switch the valve
without an electric signal. You only need to switch on the
compressed air supply.
Note
If you use the VTSA... valve terminal in a dusty environ
ment, Festo recommends that you protect the manual
overrides with cover caps of type VAMC−S6−CS against dirt
and dust when the valve terminal has been commissioned.
At the same time the manual overrides are protected
against incorrect use.
