3. Installation
Recommendation:
For connecting the FIPIO field bus use
suitable connector fittings, e.g. from Schnei-
der Automation (Telemecanique):
•
Main cable (Trunk cable) TSX FP CA xxx
•
Tap cable (Drop cable) TSX FP CC xxx
•
Tap junction (T-adapter) TSX FP ACC4
•
Line terminator TSX FP ACC7
There are two plugs on the node for connec-
ting the valve terminal to the field bus. One
of these connections is for the incoming
cable, the other for the continuing field bus
cable. The signal cables of both plugs are
connected internally with each other.
This permits two types of connections:
•
Connecting the field bus cable with a
T-adapter; only one field bus plug is required
here.
•
Looping the field bus cable from terminal to
terminal; both field bus plugs are required
here.
Recommendation:
Select the connection option with the T-
adapter. Advantage of the tap junction:
•
The valve terminal may be separated from
the field bus, without interrupting the field
bus.
•
If a terminating resistor is required, this is
simple to install and to ground at the
T-adapter.
