The transfer case is fitted to 4WD machines only
and operates as full time 4WD.
It is a single speed transfer case that directs drive
from the transmission to the wheels in the ratio
of 33% to the front and 66% to rear. A centre
differential lock is fitted which when activated, will
direct 50% of power to the front wheels and 50% to
the rear wheels.
The centre differential lock is engaged from a switch
located in the arm rest console in the cab. The
switch activates a solenoid which sends air through a
1/4" line to the transfer case shift cylinder.
The shift cylinder is pushed in by the air and the
differential lock is engaged. When the lock is turned
off, air is released from the 1/4" line and a spring
pushes the shift cylinder on the transfer case back
out.
