A. Global RAM Diagnostics
D iscon nect the powe r cable from the rear panel and rem ove the top cove r. Pl ace the
A8 G l ob a l RAM on the 03562-66540 extender card. Recon nect the power cord and turn
power on. I n itiate the G l obal RAM d i agnostic test u s i n g the fol low i n g keystrokes:
PRESET
SPCL FCTN
If the display is blank or garbled, the softk ey menus ma y be
unreadable. Whenever a softkey is used in this section, the softkey
number (51 through 58 from top to bottom) appears in parenthe
a fter the softkey name.
If the G LOBAL RAM test fa i l s, read the test log on the 1 345A d is p l ay an d/or the hex code
from the A2 L E Ds. Use tab le A8-1 to find the most li kely fai l u re or suggested tests to further
isolate the problem. Prob lems in the A8 D is p l ay Control section or A1 7 D isplay I nterface
are not detected by the G lobal RAM test. If the d i splay is b l a n k or garb led but no fau lts
are a n n u n c i ated on the A2 L E Ds or on the d is p l ay, go to part B, A8/A1 7 C i rcu it Block
Tests, to f u rther i s o l ate the problem.
