Subblock Verification Tests
The d igital sou rce performs several f u n ctions i n c l u d ing generating band-l im ited random
noise, interfac ing the local osc i l l ator with the analog sou rce, sychron izing trigger operations,
and i nterfac ing the front end asse m b l ies ( i n puts, ADCs, trigger, and analog sou rce) with
the A2 System C P U . Most f u n ctions use only a few of the DS sub b locks. To isolate the
fai l u re to a s u b b l ock, use tab le A1 -3 after perform ing the fol lowing steps:

Connect the front panel sou rce output to channel 1 .
2 .
Con nect the rear panel SYN C O U T output to c hannel 2 .

Press the HP 3562A keys as fo l lows:

The free-run mode is used for most of the following waveforms.
This is done to isolate failing functions to a subblock. When the
trigger mode is not used, the waveforms move around on the
display. The trigger mode is verified in step
