7-7 TEST ALL
Introduction
T h e Test A l l sequence thoroughly exercises the d ig ital and the analog hardware in the
i nstru ment. This se lf-d iagnostic actu a l l y does several types of measurements to determ ine
what is ope rating correctly. When a fault is found the self-d iagnostic exerci ses suspected
c i r c u its u s i n g d i g ital signals generated intern al ly, read ing status registers, and u s i n g the
i nternal analog sou rce and c a l i b rator. The Test A l l seq uence then uses l ogic to determ ine
t h e m ost l i kely fa i l u re based on the resu lts of these measu rements.
A l l fai l u re messages are d i s p l ayed in the Test Log (refer to 7-1 5 for test log descripti on).
I f the Test A l l seq uence does not iso l ate the defective assemb ly, the i n d iv i d u a l self-tests
f o r the suspected assembl ies can be done individ u a l ly to help isolate the fail u re. Use tab le
7-6 as a reference when ru n n i n g any of the service tests. When a test passes the asse m b l ies
a n d s u bbl ocks exercised are most l i kely operating correctly.

I f a keyboard rel ated p rob lem is suspected, go to 8-1 5 after perform ing T E ST A L L . If the
i ns tru ment does not respond when a key is p ressed or the d i spl ay is defective, go to
pa rag raph 7-5, " I n itial Cond itions Test". The Test A l l d i ag n ostic does not u se or test the
