General remarks

Three different PLC CPU versions can be used in the SINUMERIK 840C:
S
PLC CPU 135 WB2 with interface PLC and EPROM submodules for the ope-
rating system and the user program (the operating system and the user pro-
gram are loaded from EPROM into RAM, up to software version 2 only)
S
PLC CPU 135 WB2 with interface PLC and RESTART EPROM submodule
(as from software version 3, the operating system and the user program are
loaded from hard disk into RAM)
S
PLC CPU 135 WD without interface PLC (as from software version 3, the ope-
rating system and the user program are loaded from hard disk into RAM)
