7.2 Replacing components of the modular SINAMICS G120/G120D/G110M inverters
21.Switch on the inverter power supply again (power on reset).
22.Perform a reduced acceptance test, see the section Reduced acceptance test after
component replacement (Page 266).
You have replaced the Control Unit and transferred the safety function settings from the
operator panel to the new Control Unit.
7.2.3

Replacing the Control Unit without data backup

If you do not backup the settings, then you must recommission the drive after replacing the
Control Unit.
Procedure
To replace the Control Unit without backed-up settings, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the line voltage to the Power Module and (if installed) the external 24 V
supply or the voltage for the digital outputs of the Control Unit.
2. Remove the signal cables of the Control Unit.
3. Remove the defective Control Unit.
4. Mount the new Control Unit on the Power Module.
5. Reconnect the signal cables of the Control Unit.
6. Connect up the line voltage again.
7. Recommission the drive.
The Control Unit replacement has been completed after the drive has been successfully
commissioned.
