Regularly testing the safety functions

6.2.1

Overview

Overview
You must initiate the following function tests as a minimum once per year in order to
maintain the assured failure probability of the safety functions:
● The inverter must test its safety input if you are using a safety input.
● The inverter must test its safety functions:
● The inverter must test its safety output if you are using a safety output.
6.2.2

Testing safety inputs

Testing sensors and safety inputs
The inverter tests its safety inputs and the connected sensors with a signal change at the
inputs. We recommend that you test the safety inputs together with the forced dormant error
detection (test stop).
Procedure
To test the safety inputs, proceed as follows:
1. Actuate the relevant sensor.
2. Check the following:
