Description
4-bit IP version number (v6)
8-bit value that enables a source to identify the
delivery classification of its packets
20-bit flow label that can be used by a source to
label packets for which the source requests special
handling by IPv6 routers; for example, non-default
QoS or real-time service
A flow contains a series of packets that travel
between a particular source and particular
destination
The length of the payload (16-bit unsigned
integer), which is the rest of the packet following
the IPv6 header, in octets
Any extension headers that are present in the
packet are considered to be part of the payload;
therefore, the payload always begins immediately
after the Destination Address
